Thomas S. Maring DMD, MD is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and has been practicing in Downtown Seattle for over 25 years. He has been humbled to have been consistently selected by his patients and colleagues from 2006-2023 as “Seattle’s Top Dentist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery” with Seattle Met Magazine.
Dr. Maring received his undergraduate degree from Oregon State University in 1985 and his Doctorate of Medical Dentistry at Oregon Health Science University, completing both programs with high honors. He was elected to Omicron Kappa Upsilon (National Dental Honor Society) in 1989 and was awarded the Pierre Fauchard Award, for highest clinical scholarship the same year. He completed his externship in the Section of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of California San Francisco. Dr. Maring then went on to complete his Doctorate of Medicine from UCLA Medical School in 1993. After finishing his internship in General Surgery at the UCLA Medical Center, he began his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at UCLA School of Dentistry. He continued to do his fellowship in Reconstructive Surgery in Edmonds, Washington.
Dr. Maring was born and raised in Portland, Oregon, but has lived in the Seattle area for over thirty years. His hobbies include boating, fishing, and spending time with his wife and two daughters. He also has the privilege of working alongside his wife of twenty-five years, Dr. Susan Maring. Dr. Susan Maring who is a periodontist, collaborates closely with Dr. Thomas Maring when treatment planning patients who are in need of dental implants and/or teeth extractions.
